Quick Detailing Sprays
I’m often asked which quick detailing spray is best. This is not an easy question, as it depends on what
you need. If you use a Carnauba wax, I highly recommend the use of a detailing spray that contains
Carnauba wax. Doing so will help rejuvenate the wax removed by daily use and washing. If you use an
acrylic polymer (from Klasse, Meguiar’s and many others), using a detail spray with or without Carnauba
wax is okay.
Detailing sprays have several functions. First and foremost, they allow you to safely remove dust, water
spots (as long has they have not hardened and attached to the paint), fingerprints, bird droppings, and
other foreign matter. Many people, such as myself, use detailing spray daily before covering the car.
Doing so prevent scratching, and ensures a perfectly detailed car the next time you take it out.
Detailing sprays also reduce car washing. Just a few minutes each day is all you need to remove dust and
dirt to maintain the appearance of your car.
Comparing detailing sprays is difficult because everyone has different requirements. All of the
detailing sprays we offer are easy to use. No of them require buffing. Simply spray and wipe. A little
tip: the better the coat of wax on your car, the better your quick detailing results will be.
You will find the highest concentration of wax in Pinnacle Crystal Mist and Zymol Field Glaze. As a
result, the cost of these products is higher. Of these two, I think Pinnacle Crystal Mist provides the
best results and has the best smell (Pina Colada you’ll want to drink it, but, please don’t!).
The best value is Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl. It’s exceptionally easy to use, smells great (peaches), and
contains #1 Brazilian Carnuaba Wax to restore your car’s "just waxed shine."
The best known quick detailing product is Meguiar’s Final Inspection (AKA Meguiar’s Quick Detailer). I
like Meguiar’s because it has great lubrication properties. If you car is really dusty, Meguiar’s puts
enough lubrication around the dust to remove it without and worry of scratching. These same lubricating
oils restore the shine on your car, but they do not rejuvenate the wax.
Dollar for dollar, I’d have to say Eimann Fabrik is the hands down winner. If cost is no object, and you
want to pamper yourself and your car, look no further than the Pinnacle Crystal Mist. Down and dirty (no
pun intended), go for the Meguiar’s.
